Barbara Rovan is a freelance translator and interpreter for English, Japanese and Slovenian. In 1991 she graduated from the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia, with a major in English and got her PhD in applied linguistics from the University of Tsukuba, Japan, in 2004. She is a certified court interpreter for English in the Republic of Slovenia.
In the period 2014-2022 she was the president of DPTS (Association of Translators and Interpreters of Slovenia). Since 2023 she has been the president of EULITA, the European Association of Translators and Interpreters.
